Aim Youth Councils Network

Across the state, Hoosier students play an integral role in preparing our cities and towns for the future through local youth advisory councils. Aim launched the Aim Youth Councils Network in 2018 to amplify and support that vital mission. The Aim Youth Councils Network is committed to serving emerging leaders, and through the program, we endeavor to increase the number of municipal leaders who run local councils and offer networking opportunities and leadership development for youth.

2026 Aim Youth Legislative Day

Tuesday, February 24, 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Eastern
Aim Office, Indianapolis

Join us for Aim Youth Legislative Day, an engaging experience designed to inspire and educate the next generation of civic leaders. This event gives students a firsthand look at the Indiana General Assembly in action, with opportunities to tour the Indiana Statehouse, meet state leaders, and take part in discussions on key legislative issues. Participants will also learn how Indiana state government works and gain a deeper understanding of the legislative process and how state laws affect local governments. Whether you’re passionate about government, leadership, or making a difference in your community, this is an experience you won’t want to miss.

Registration for Aim Youth Legislative Day is open through Thursday, February 19. The cost is $20 per person, which includes lunch and a treat for the trip home. Students must be accompanied by a chaperone or advisor throughout the event. Various parking options are available near the Aim office and the Statehouse and may require a fee.

Monthly Youth Councils Network Advisor Meetings

The monthly Youth Council Advisor Meetings provide a valuable opportunity for advisors across Indiana to connect, collaborate, and share best practices for engaging and inspiring young leaders. Hosted via Zoom, these meetings include open discussions, resource updates, and a space to address challenges and questions. Scheduled for select Tuesdays throughout the year at 3:00 p.m., the meetings aim to build a strong network of advisors dedicated to youth empowerment.
