Public Works Superintendent, Town of Cambridge City

The Town of Cambridge City is seeking a Public Works Superintendent. A full job description is available in the office of the Town Clerk Treasurer, located at 127 N. Foote Street, Cambridge City, Indiana. In general, however, the job entails maintaining and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Town’s Road and street improvements; the water and storm water systems for the Town; and the Town’s parks and cemetery. Some public works experience is preferred, but all candidates will be considered. Salary is commensurate with experience and ability. Legal Services, Town of Chesterton

The Town of Chesterton (“Town”) solicits this Request for Proposal (“RPF”) for legal services to support the Chesterton Town Council, its Departments, Boards, and Commissions. The Town of Chesterton, Indiana is a Duneland community of 14,241 residents (2020 census) and encompasses 9.5 square miles. Chesterton is well known for being the gateway to the Indiana Dunes National Park and Indiana Dunes State Park, an excellent school system, and high quality of life. The historic downtown district boasts a variety of shops, restaurants, and events. The surrounding neighborhoods have additional access to regional trails and park amenities. The SR49 corridor, which includes I80/94 and I90 exits, has fueled both commercial and residential growth across the outlying area making for an overall vibrant community that is seeking continued economic development and growth.

The Town acknowledges that legal services are professional services under I.C. 5-22-6 et seq. The Town may purchase services using any procedure the Town considers appropriate. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received in response to this RFP. Further, the Town reserves the right to select a proposal based on the factors stated herein or any other factors that they determine to be reasonably appropriate. A contract will be negotiated with the successful proposer for the services described in this RFP. All costs incurred in the preparation of a proposal responding to the RFP will be the responsibility of the proposer and will not be reimbursed by the Town. Additional information may be requested from the responders, and they must be available for an interview if the Town so desires.

Planning Director, City of Michigan City

Michigan City is accepting applications for Planning Director to manage the Planning and Inspection Department and, as the Director, will be responsible for developing and administering comprehensive plans and programs for utilization of land and physical facilities of the city. Duties include supervision of direct reports; conferring with city administration and other stakeholders to develop long-range plans and technical studies for growth and development of the City; recommending revisions to zoning, subdivision and building ordinances as needed; compiling and analyzing data on economic, social and physical factors affecting land use and preparing requisitions graphic and narrative reports on data; and identifying issues affecting land use, public utilities, community facilities and housing and transportation and recommending measures to control and guide community development and renewal. The Director will also be responsible for implementing department goals, objectives, policies and priorities and administering the department’s budget.

Director of Public Works, City of Michigan City

Michigan City is seeking a Director of Public Works to lead the Public Works Department and, as the Director, will manage and oversee various departments including Planning, Engineering and Central Services. The Public Works Director will also serve as the General Manager of the Sanitary District. The position reports directly to the Mayor of Michigan City.

Duties include supervision of direct reports; developing and implementing department goals, objectives, policies and priorities; identifying Capital Improvement project requirements and administering the department’s budget. The Director will assist the administration in developing a sustainable maintenance program for public improvements as well as establishing a Capital Improvement Plan for the city’s Sanitary District.
