Town of Newburgh Awarded a 2020 Aim Community Placemaking Award

by Aim Admin | Oct 16, 2020 | Awards, Members, Press Release

INDIANAPOLIS – Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim) announced Newburgh has won an Aim Community Placemaking Award for its Allen Family Amphitheater project.  The town received its award earlier this month at the virtual 2020 Aim Ideas Summit.   Newburgh won in the 5,000 or less population category.

Maximizing the use of prime downtown property, the Allen Family Amphitheatre consists of staging, ample tiered seating, greenspace, and the addition of an historic brick house that will act as a box office.  For more on this project, check out this brief video.

Aim CEO Matt Greller said, “The Allen Family Amphitheater is a perfect example of placemaking.  The project will attract visitors who will see what it looks like when a community embraces quality of life and invests in itself.  What a great example of utilizing your assets to their maximum potential.”
