FRENCH LICK – Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim) announced today the Town of Daleville has been named a 2018 Community Placemaking Award winner in the under 2,000 population category. The Town will receive its award during the Aim Annual Awards Luncheon presented by Umbaugh, Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the 2018 Aim Ideas Summit in French Lick.
Daleville is being honored for its Town Hall Park and Splash Pad project. Undaunted, the town took a large piece of land, previously populated with a rundown playset and overgrown creek, and created a play space and splash pad for its younger visitors, and added paths, benches, and many other amenities for families to enjoy.
“Daleville’s accomplishment is so impressive. This is a large-scale project similar to those seen in bigger cities. I am really inspired by what Daleville and smaller communities across Indiana are able to do when dedicated municipal officials put their heads together,” said Aim CEO Matt Greller.
In its 42nd year, the Aim Annual Awards program, presented by Umbaugh, recognizes communities and individuals in municipal government for excellence and outstanding achievement. A nine-member panel of qualified judges selected this year’s winners from a competitive field of nominees from around the state.
