Sullivan Mayor Clint Lamb Elected 2016-17 Conference of Mayors President

INDIANAPOLIS – At their annual meeting last week in Greenwood, the Indiana Conference of Mayors (ICOM) elected Sullivan Mayor Clint Lamb president of the organization. Lamb took office immediately and will serve for one year in the position.

“To be elected by my peers to lead a wonderful organization such as the Indiana Conference of Mayors is a true honor. Over the course of the next year I plan to reward the confidence they have placed in me by being a steadfast advocate for cities,” Lamb said.

“Population trends continue to prove that Hoosiers of all ages are seeking to live, work, play, and retire in communities with ‘things to do.’ Supporting the ability of Hoosier cities to provide these amenities is imperative to 21st Century economic development. I look forward to building partnerships in the legislature that will help us accomplish this goal together,” he continued.

Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers was elected by ICOM members to serve as the group’s vice president. Mayor Lamb and Mayor Myers are currently serving in their second terms, both having been re-elected in November 2015.

The Indiana Conference of Mayors (ICOM), an affiliate of the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT), was formed in 1998. Its purpose is to give special focus on the needs and concerns of the elected chief executives of Indiana’s 120 cities.
