City of Lawrenceburg Awarded a 2020 Aim Community Placemaking Award

by Aim Admin | Oct 16, 2020 | Awards, Members, Press Release

INDIANAPOLIS – Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim) announced Lawrenceburg has earned an Aim Community Placemaking Award for its Lawrenceburg Civic Park project.  The city was honored with this award earlier this month at the virtual 2020 Aim Ideas Summit during the Annual Awards Program – presented by Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors, LLC.   Lawrenceburg won in the 5,000 – 20,000 population category.

The Lawrenceburg Civic Park is situated on the site of former parking lots in the heart of the city’s downtown. Taking this once underutilized space and transforming it into a major asset for the community, with a professional stage, greenspace, and sprinkle park for the kids.  Click here to watch a brief video highlighting the project.

Aim CEO Matt Greller said, “I am always excited to see what city leaders in Lawrenceburg are going to do next to attract talent and new businesses to their community.  The Lawrenceburg Civic Park is their latest quality of place project and I am certain it will be a home run in the community’s ongoing placemaking efforts.”
