INDIANAPOLIS – Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim) announced Lawrenceburg has earned an Aim Community Placemaking Award for its Lawrenceburg Civic Park project. The city was honored with this award earlier this month at the virtual 2020 Aim Ideas Summit during the Annual Awards Program – presented by Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors, LLC. Lawrenceburg won in the 5,000 – 20,000 population category.
The Lawrenceburg Civic Park is situated on the site of former parking lots in the heart of the city’s downtown. Taking this once underutilized space and transforming it into a major asset for the community, with a professional stage, greenspace, and sprinkle park for the kids.
